i have a question about meth?
we just moved into a new house, it was built about 5 years ago, and has had one previous owner. after moving in we had an electric problem, where the outlets in all of the master bedroom stopped working, we ended up having to get an electrician to come out and figure out the problem. he found that the outlets were corroded, which was not allowing electricity to flow thru them, and they needed replaced. we had asked the electrician why they would have been corroded and he said that it is possible that the previous owner was making meth in the house because the chemicals used to create meth can corrode metal. and we have been looking thru the house for other signs of meth, and both bathtub drains are corroded, which could be because the previous owner was pouring the chemicals down the drains.
do you think that with this information, it is possible that the previous owner was making meth here?
we are very worried about this…
we have been told that if meth residue is found in the house, the only way to completely get rid of it is to gut the entire house. and if he did pour the chemicals down the drains, the septic system will have to be replaced.
–we have been told that we can take legal action against the previous owner for not telling us, if it does come to the a positive meth reading.
–we have also been told that “in home tests” are not reliable, we would have to have the house tests professionally, which can be expensive.
we are wanting to know what other people think before we go thru with the tests.
thanks in advance.
