Electrics in house still working but no lights are turning on?

Hi
All the lights in my house suddenly turned off!!
Now first thing i thought is that fuse has switched off, so i go to look and it looks fine. Next thing that confuses me is that all the electrics, i.e. tv and lamp are still working!
Also one light in the store room still operates! All the other lights in the house are not working!
Anybody know what the problem is and how much it will cost me to fix?!

Could have lost one leg of power feeding the panel.If this is the case you do not have full 240 feeding the house only 120 volts.I have seen this before and you can call your electric company and they should check it out on their side of the line.

Check to see if all the lights are on the same circuit. If they are then you will have to start at the panel box and work through the lights until you find the open circuit usually close to panel box

Go to the power panel and carefully inspect each circuit. One with the lights may be off but appear to be on. If they are circuit breakers, wiggle each handle to the off position then turn it back on. You will need to reprogram all of the electronics if you turn them off. The circuit for the lights is probably a 15 amp circuit, not 20 or larger.
If this does not solve the problem, call a qualified professional electrician.
