advice on safety of electrics in house?
we currently rent a house privately. i am concerned about the safety of our electrics which are located under the stairs. there is an old style fuse box and a number of old circuit breakers. the shower is also connected to this and the only way of operating the shower is by turning the breaker switch off and on. all the wires/switches are located in easy reach of my small children and there is no cover on them to stop the switches and wires being touched, i was wondering if someone who knew about electrics could give me an idea of whether this is legal or not, thanks

No. That’s way out of date.
Fuse panels are no longer allowed in living spaces (should be outside). They need to be a certain height and be covered.

if you rent your house get the landlord to fix as he is breaking health and safety rules by not keeping it in a safe order put a lock on the door so children cant get near it. and it is certainly not legal
