Hobgoblin66 asked:
I work as an estimator for an electrical contractor. We are bidding a fairly large wind farm with GE 1.5MW WTGs. Can anyone give me an idea as to what is involved in their internal electrical connections? I would also like to know roughly how many man hours are involved?

You should be able to get this information from GE. Among issues that will need to be dealt with are transformers, circuit breakers and disconnects, and wiring from the WTG’s to a collection point whence the juice can go out to consumers.

To add to what was said above… Also with many wind turbine projects there may be some kind of electrical or mechanical storage means associated with it all (but in any case, energy storage) – because sometimes the wind blows, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes you need the power, sometimes you don’t.
