Electrical/Landlord issues?
Help!!! After a recent storm, the lights in my apt. went out. I was able to get most of the lights back on (via the fuse box). My problems lie in the fact that, they will not come on in 1 room of the apt. I contacted my landlord; who has given me the cold shoulder. My question is should i try to fix this myself (hire out an electrician) or ride it out. I’m afraid she might try to sue me once i move. She’s tight-fisted with money and i think she’ll say that this incident was my fault. It’s an old bldg. and, typically i have to keep warm with a space heater. If i hire an electrician; how much do you think this would cost? Thank you very much; all help would be appreciated!

NO, put it in writing to LL and request they send an electrician within 2 weeks to remedy problem, noting that it has been X weeks since you first notified her of problem from the storm. Be polite, but firm, that this was caused by storm and is her responsibility to fix under your lease.

if after 1 mo she does not fix it [heating included] you must
hire a GC electrician and pay him/her. then, you take that
amount of what you pay in the next mo rent–and give a copy of the
paid repair invoice.
