Coondog asked:
New construction, but house is finished. Do I run it from an existing box in the attic? Off another ceiling fan?

Yes you can do that. Fans don’t pull that many amps.

Hire an Electrician and have him do it right.

You need to go back to your local electric code or the National Electric Code and make sure which circuit and circuit breaker can have the fan electric motor added to it. You’ll need to know the horsepower of the motor.

with an installation like this you can do one of two things,
if you are replacing the light in a room use the wiring for that light
blue and blk form fan goes to black of the house wiring
blue being the light kit if it has one.
if you use a box that is in the attic it might be on a switch if all that work and you don;t know what switch , you go cahsing a big circle.
hope you are placing the fan in a room with lights already.
If you are gonna use a box from the attic try using the one for the attic lights .Or one from the ventalating fan chances are good that is on the attic lights. with a new fan support it with a 2×4 nailed between the ceiling joints
secure the box to that and install the fan little trick , make sure the box is level and tight this will help with the wobbling of the fan.
