Look in pawn shops,! You’d be surprised how many musicians have had to “sacrifice” a good playing guitar! I have found a lot of good playing guitars for real low prices!

Try the Guitar Center, or Sam Ash, they will be in the phone book, if not try the guitar stores in your area, if that fails look in the phone book for used instruments, and make sure you check your local newspapers, they have a lot of used guitars in there. If your just starting I would recommend an acoustic guitar first, your going to be very disappointed at how an electric guitar sounds when your first learning, I’ve tried to tell a lot of my students this and they don’t listen and later on their sorry, nothing sounds worst then when a person is trying to learn guitar on electric, and I’m sure your parents would appreciate it !!!!!

You often can find real deals at the link below–sometimes they even have starter electric guitar kits by name brand manufacturers that include a decent beginner instrument plus a little practice amp. Be aware, however, that buying a guitar from a thrift shop or online auction or hock shop or classified ad involves some risk. Be prepared to take your secondhand guitar to a shop and have them set it up for playability.

BTW, if you do start out with a little 15-watt or similar practice amp, never get rid of it (unless it breaks)–even if you buy a pro quality head and speaker cab, the practice amp someday will come in handy.

you are not going to get a good electric guitar for under $100.00 dollers. What you are going to get is a cheap guitar that will not stay in tune.

I have had this telecaster for about 5 years now and it is the best guitar made in under $200.00 range. The strat is a very good guitar but I like the sound of a telecaster.

look in the classifieds and see who is selling. also just go to guitar center. they are bound to have something. look for various music shops around town. dont worry if you look hard enuf you’ll find it
