How do they build those big electric towers?
Behind my house are some hills and they have big electric towers going all up the hills. I was just wondering how do you build such a massive tower, especially when its over hills.

Hi all,
I want to get a flood light or two installed along a wall by my driveway. If I had 2 installed, they would be about 10 feet apart. How much would this project probably cost? I have an older house so I am not sure how many wires are available close by to tap into.
Thanks in advance
Garage has quoted for complete new unit but when it is on it works perfectly.
The heater/air con unit (and the rear window defrost switch) will work intermittently-as if it is only getting electrical supply now and then. When it is on, which can be from seconds to minutes, it works perfectly. On a trip it switches on and off repeatedly.
Hope this explains the problem abit better
I’ve been trying to get some work done on my basement for several months. Not a pretty job – it’s a unfinished basement with old, particle board panneling on the walls. The basement gets water so the panneling has been rotted away at the bottom and I’m 99% sure I’ve got mold to deal with. I’d do it myself but there will need to be some minor structural and electrical work that I’m not comfortable doing, as well as the fact that I’d rather not directly handle mold disposal. I’ve gone to umpteen contractors/specialists both directly and through lead generators like Service Magic. They either A.) Don’t show up to their estimate appointments, B.) Look it over, say they’ll send an estimate and then disappear and not return calls, or C.) Submit a price that’s insanely out of the logical range.
For reference this is suburban Philly. Is this a seasonal thing – i.e. there are plenty of pretty little summer projects that people want done so they’ll just blow off the ugly ones like mine?
Specifics from my home inspection:
- Ungrounded three-prong outlets in three rooms. (Original two-conductor wire is still used for the three-prong outlet).
- Outlet with reversed polarity
- Need weatherproof cover for exterior outlet.
This is for a one-story bungalow-style house, built in 1935 in North Carolina. I am looking for the total cost to have these items done. I realize there are a great number of dependencies to be considered, and that the range from low to high may be large, but I need to put something on a spreadsheet right now.
I am attempting to get estimates on a long list of repairs and renovations that I will need a house I’m under contract to purchase so that I can have my lender put together a construction loan. I have a contractor coming out next week (so please don’t respond “you need to have an electrician take a look…” Of course, I do).
