Miakoda asked:

When I moved in to this… slum, I tested the outlets, had to repair several that were reversed, but got a decent ground on all of them. Twice now, the wire fault on my computer’s UPS has lit. Both times, I’d test the voltage across hot and ground, and got something 80 volts or lower. The fault lights went out, the voltages across hot and ground were over 120, it seemed to have fixed itself. Now the fault lights just came back on, and, no surprise, the hot to ground voltage is below 80.
What can cause this, and how can I fix it?! I’d appreciate an answer from an electrician. I know enough about electricity that I should be able to safely carry out your instructions, and I know where the power shut offs are.
Since somebody asked, I’ll type it again. 80 is hot to ground.
Everything here does suffer voltage irregularities, hence the UPS. However, hot to neutral is always over 100. Hot to ground is sometimes below 80, sometimes as low as 50.

How do I make my electric guitar squeal?

Danny asked:

I have watched many videos of people explaining this technique, but I just can’t seem to get it right. I sometimes make a squealing sound, but its very low. How do you make it squeal properly? Any suggestions? What’s the best technique, and keep in mind that I can’t go for guitar lessons at the moment.

I’m that ******* down the st asked:

My realtor suggested that I upgrade to 200 watt service so I went to the hardware store and bought a new 200 amp breaker box and plan to install it tomorrow morning. I’ve never done anything pertaining to electricity in my life, and I really don’t want to hire a professional. Do I just remove one wire at a time and wrap it with that black tape?

Joe S asked:

They go to expensive private schools when they cannot afford it, and when they could have instead went to a community college. Then they start whining and crying to get bailed out because they couldn’t find a good job after they graduated.

What’s with people thinking they are entitled to a good paying job after graduation anyway? There are limited positions for lawyers, doctors, and CEOs in any society. We can’t all be doctors. We can’t all be lawyers. We need some car mechanics, some chefs, some teachers, some electricians, etc. Everybody wants to be rich, but the fact remains that not everyone will be rich. So they go run toward the 100k profession and complain when they fail, blaming the school or sallie mae for high interest or fudging of the employment statistics. But what they really fail to understand is that it’s more their own fault than anybody else’s. They have to realize that there isn’t a house for every living person, there isn’t a hundred thousand salary for every living person, and that most of us are not going to be lawyers or doctors. Enough with fantasy world – live in reality.
