brian_greenway asked:

I have a ford marine engine, and the starter is mounted backwards. I bought a new starter from an autoparts store but it rotates the wrong way for this engine and I don’t want to pay $200 more for the same starter that rotates counterclockwise from a marine parts dealer.
I bought the new starter for $30. I don’t want to pay $190 for one that turns the opposite way.
The new one is identical in appearance to the old one, so I don’t know what you mean about spark protection because all the wires are attached the same.

We moved into a old mobile home that has no washer or dryer hookups. We have a shed where we can put the appliances but do not have any electric (220) for the dryer and (110) for the washer or drain pipe for the washer.

wiring a grounded outlet?

bioid asked:

a DIY remodeling project – I yanked out a nasty old range-top microwave – and in doing so noted the wire was direct wired to the wiring in the wall –

in a pinch i just shut-off the fuse, undid the splices in the three wires, separately, and replaced the wire-cap twist things and taped them on a bit with black elec. tape

I’m no electrician… but this seems like a no-brainer (using all due caution of course…)

now the question- I mean, i assume the three wires are the +/-/ground… black ground- white and whatever-

I believe I have the know-how to just go to the hardware store and get a friggin outlet and just wire the thing- i’ve wired lamps, simple things… I weld, woodwork, sculpt – i know how things work ya know

whatdy’a say?

any suggested online tutelage?

Electricity outlets not working in one room?

aleiah126 asked:

My breezeway electrical outlets stopped working one day. We had our freezer and pool which was running on an extension cord ( you know the blow up type) in one outlet for a couple of days. We had not had any problems before this. The overhead light is still working, just the outlets are not. We have stitched out the existing outlet hardwear and tripped all our GFCI switches. The power is okay in the circuit breaker at the electrical amp box. The outlets register negative. We would like to remedy this situation ourselves instead of paying an arm and leg for an electrician. Any suggestions? Thanks
