How to properly strip the end of a romex wiring cable … electrical wiring tutorial stripping wires
I’m having some huge electrical problems in my house. It was built in 1993 and I really hope that there is a wiring diagram out there somewhere.
I think it is neat to give homeowners a type of “map” of all the wiring. I thought that there might be a software in the market that would allow me to quickly create and print such map. Is that possible? Which software is that? If not, how do electricians “register” what they have done for future use?
I’m wondering how deep into the wall the electrical wiring and pipes are. Can you hit them with 2″ screws when you putting up, for example, curtain rods?
Wire should be centered where?
Is there anything that has to be done to safely move the wiring? I have not cut into the wall yet, but I am sure there is wiring in the way because I have an outdoor outlet that is right next to my patio door where the dog door will be. Any ideas would be helpful! Either I deal with the electrical problem, or I have to go through studs on the other side of the patio door! Aagghhhhh!
Thanks to all of your answers. My dog is a german shepard and I am hoping that the door will clear the wires. When I measured where the door will sit, it was about a half inch off where the indoor outlets sit. If that is any indication where the lines are running I may just have enough slack to slide it down a bit? At least that is what I am hoping for. Worse case scenario, I open the wall and then call an electrician!!!
